ABOUT US
Ellipsis is the student representative body of the School of Computing
& Information Systems (SCIS).
SCIS students embody the meaning of an ‘ellipsis' as they have
unlimited potential, only limited by their imagination. Ellipsis seeks
to serve our students via a three-pronged approach, namely through
Academics, Professional Development and Student Life. On top of the
key events such as SCIS Day that is organised to bring students and
faculty members together, they also care for their students through
the provision of welfare and career development opportunities such as
networking sessions.
Our Vision
A united SCIS community with a fulfilling student life and opportunities for holistic growth
Our Mission
To serve and care for our community with initiatives that focus on engagement, holistic development and fostering a shared sense of identity
Our Values

Selflessness
Selflessness is the principle or practice of concern for the welfare of others, rather than for one's own. We would like to encourage our fellow SCIS students to be considerate, help each other out, share ideas and resources, in order to develop a united community where we can depend on each other for support

Inquisitiveness
Inquisitiveness also known as curiosity is an emotion related to natural inquisitive behaviour such as exploration, investigation and learning. This value represents a drive to know new things, which exemplifies students of SCIS who are always seeking for innovation solutions to everyday problems.

Sincerity
Sincerity is the virtue in which one acts in accordance with their feelings and thoughts. We aim for sincere and honest relationships amongst all SCIS students, where we can share our opinions and thoughts without fear of judgement, to develop an open and honest culture amongst the SCIS community.
WHAT WE DO
Regular welfare drives are held to motivate and lift the spirits of SCIS students.
SCIS Day is the biggest event organised annually by Ellipsis to celebrate SCIS’ anniversary, which aims to foster strong camaraderie among the SCIS community, past and present.
Being one of Ellipsis' flagship events, Ellipsis Tech Series creates opportunities for all students to learn more about the IT industry through interactions with IT professionals across various sub-events held during the series. Ellipsis Tech Series 2020 includes workshops, a networking session, industry partner interactions and a Hackathon.
Held in collaboration wtih DKHMCC, our networking sessions provide a conducive platform for students and industry partners to engage in meaningful interactions.
Ellipsis is committed to providing a greater understanding of IT related professions to SCIS through company visits which provide an effective way to explore various technological roles in real operating environments. Company visits allow the students to learn first-hand about the work culture of a company and the nature of an industry
Enriching workshops are conducted to incorporate new and fundamental concepts to students which assist them in their learning.
