Whitehat Society is an information security special interest group in SMU.
We are a bunch of passionate individuals who love technology! Advocating security is our
goal, and we do so by teaching useful IT software (be it setting
up your own Wordpress website or using Excel) and at the same time we teach them how to
the software safely and securely. We are a competitive bunch as well, and we hold weekly
trainings for those who want to learn more
technical skills! We have close ties with the industry, working with partners from Edgis
Security, ThinkSECURE, iDA, CSA, CSAA and SiTF to organise industry sharing so our

to inspire a new generation of hackers through our annual WhiteHacks@SG information
competition, where students from junior college receive training by Whitehat Society
and compete in a Capture-the-Flag style
We are a special interest group which aims to value-add student experiences
in the field of Smart-City Management and Technology (SMT) through weekly workshops
incorporate topical discussions on Smart City issues and hands-on
experience with Smart City technologies. Members will also get to work on real-world
City projects with industry project sponsors and participate in hackathons, and apply
technologies such as analytics and IoT to help
solve urbanization problems.
SMU ISACA is a Student Chapter that promotes skills and knowledge in the
interrelated fields of IT governance, IS audit, security, control and assurance to our
members. We are an affiliated Student Group to the ISACA Singapore Chapter, a
professional association with International recognition and best known as the certifying body for
certifications like Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information
Systems Manager (CISM) and Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE).
Our activities include seminars by working professionals in consultancy and auditing firms, networking sessions with members of the Singapore Chapters, and training workshops in preparation for members to attempt certifications accredited by ISACA, which are recognised internationally. We welcome students who are interested in Information Systems consultancy and advisory field to join us to learn and be certified in this domain.
SMU Women in Tech (WiT) is the pioneering student-led organization promoting gender
diversity in the tech industry. We support our members through panel events hosting
professional and prominent leaders from the tech industry that spark important
conversations pertaining to gender equality in tech. We also offer a variety of propositions
such as technical workshops and mentorship opportunities with a focus on female
empowerment to cultivate well-rounded tech talents.
