SMU Whitehat Society
Whitehat Society is an information security special interest group of Singapore Management University. We are a bunch of passionate individuals who love security in technology! We achieve our goal of Advocating Security by promoting the importance of cybersecurity and teaching the fundamentals of ethical hacking to the wider community.
We hold weekly training sessions for those who want to pick up technical skills. To put these skills to practise, we regularly compete in Capture-the-Flag competitions of various scales. We have close ties with the industry, working with partners from GovTech, CSA, CSIT, AiSP, SGTech and CSAA to organise industry sharing sessions so our members know what they can expect in the future.
We hope to inspire a new generation of ethical hackers through our annual Junior College outreach programme, Whitehacks. There, pre-university students receive training from SMU Whitehat Society members and compete in a Capture-the-Flag competition. Through our industry partnerships, we hope to better expose the information security industry, clearing common misconceptions, and to provide scholarship opportunities to passionate individuals.
